Correspondence

This desk keeps working notes on credit enhancement: the supports, internal and external, that stand behind debt obligations. The notes explain how each mechanism operates, what it protects against, and where its protection stops. They are written in plain language for the interested reader, and they are kept deliberately free of figures that would go stale.

Two things the notes are not. They are not advice: nothing on these pages is an offer, a solicitation, or a recommendation concerning any particular security, borrower, or transaction, and the desk does not advise on individual holdings. And they are not exhaustive: deal documents govern every real transaction, and a real decision belongs in front of the documents and a qualified adviser, not a general explainer.

Writing to the desk

Questions about the subject, corrections of substance, and plain-language suggestions are all welcome. Write to [email protected] and refer to the document number when the point concerns a particular page, for example Document II on reserve accounts.

Correspondence that asks for a view on a specific security or borrower will not receive one; that line is what keeps the notes worth reading.
